Use a fat source – The more fat (lard, butter, or oil), the softer your dough will be.
Knead longer – If using a stand mixer, run it for at least 15 minutes for the best texture.
Let it rest – Rest your dough for 30-60 minutes to make pressing easier.
Press evenly – Use your Presa Pan with firm, even pressure for a perfect shape.

Why type of dough or flour works best?

Traditional flour tortilla dough (fat + warm liquid for softness)

Avoid dough that’s too dry or too wet, as this can lead to cracking or sticking.

My dough is sticking - help!

If your dough is sticking:
Lightly dust with flour or cornstarch before pressing.
Preheat your top plate closed! Both the top and bottom plate must be preheated on medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes before use.
Check your dough hydration—too wet = sticky, too dry = cracking.
Press gently—applying too much pressure can cause sticking.
